Henarathgoda Botanic Gardens is located a short distance from the railway station of Gampaha, and there are more than 500 meters away from the road Gampaha-Minuwangoda. The distance from Colombo is 18 miles. Original size of the gardens was approximately 36 hectares in size, slightly wavy, the elevation of 33 feet above mean sea level.
